Happieness is a choice

You’re going to catch a cold, from the ice inside your soul. March 31, 2011

Filed under: Rambles,So you could say... — GabrialGrewOnUp @ 4:15 am

Today’s title has been inspired by the song Jar of Hearts, which my good friend Miss Beckie Duhamel has been practicing over and overwhich is completely acceptable cause her voice and piano playing just mellows out my SOUL. yeah, she’s that good. She calms this crazy soul. It’s a rare talent. Anyways back to the story. – The song itself is really pretty and I think it might be one of the videos I use to help me complete #93 on my list of 101 things. Just a side note – 93 is sing more and post them on my YouTube channel, the one that’s covered in cobwebs and every now and then a tumbleweed rolls by, yeah that one. Well I think it’s been almost three years since I last uploaded a video, which is a real shame because that was back before I was semi not crap at singing and couldn’t read music… well I still can’t read music but sometimes I can convince myself I can. I mean I play a bit of piano. EEFGGFEDCCDEEDD… YEAH :D

Alright, so clearly when I was staring at my blog and going… it’s been like 12 hours since I last posted anything, trying to write a blog post was not the best idea. Because I seem to be having this problem with going of on a rambly tangent and never fully circling back to my topic at hand. I also feel as though I’m mentioning my 101 list every five minutes. But that’s just because I’m being a freaking champ and completing things – or getting them started – left and right!

On the side of my 101 list, and the stuff on it. I had this sudden burst of adulthood lately, I mean, I’m still my procrastinating self, and I do things like stay up way to late and eat nutella out of the jar but that’s fine and dandy – Back to being an adult – I think it might have something to do with my trench coat, it makes me feel older. I think and that’s fine with me, because as my family so kindly pointed out in nine months I will be 18 and quote “One year closer to death” unquote. Gosh I love my family. Which speaking of my sister Amy is due to have her baby any lovely day now, I would like the 7th personally… cause I really want to win that money. Help pay back my Chicago trip that happens in exactly t-minus 13 days.

Wow this blog post is jumping all around the place, and the really sad thing is I haven’t had anything to drink in the caffeine family. Sadly I’m just this crazy, and you all have to deal with that daily. I apologize to my friends and would like to thank you, for putting up with my crazy hand motions and sound effects. I would especially like to thank Steph Schneider for running around all 6 girls bathrooms with me today, writing on mirrors and having neater writing then me. It was all very helpful and writing post-its get tiresome after a while. I would kindly ask if you’re having a downer day, or just want to be told you’re beautiful to follow this link {www.facebook.com/album.php?fbid=10150481442280263&id=676540262&aid=648796} and read some of the messages that are so true to the heart that they made me smile writing them.

I would also like to thank Mr. Cvetich who gave me a super smiley post it note rhyme because of English class this morning, I incorporated some rhetorical questions into this particular post-it.

Tuesday Ten… Part Two! – March 29th March 30, 2011

Alright so I really didn’t plan to do this every week, but I might, just so that I have one less thing to worry about, I think this counts as a little random factoid and you can all deal with that. As you deal with all my other riveting blog posts about my adventures and… well I forgot where that sentence was going to go because I got interested in the SAC kids and the fact that they’ve lost the keys to their closet… Which is I guess a big problem..

ANYWAYS, back to my Tuesday ten list if you do decided to answer post your responses in the comments or if you write it on your own blog leave the link, and now, without further Adoo.

1. What animal should cease to exist?

Wow, a lot of different animals – and don’t get all science on me “it’s a mammal not an animal” – today they’re all freaking animals. So, yeah, back to who I’d get rid of: Snakes, Possums, Bats, Mice, Rats, Lizards, Frogs you know just to name a few (I’d also like to note that with getting rid of all the lizards, frogs and what not I would get rid of all bugs to.)

2. What was your favorite part of elementary school?

Back then it was just hanging out a recess, chilling on the jungle gym and climbing the stairs in the auditorium. As I got older it was having seniority over different things in the school. Now when I go back and visit it’s seeing how much smaller everything actually is, comparing it to how big I used to think it all was. It’s weird to go back and remember having to stand on your tippy toes to reach a shelf that now only goes to your shoulders… and of course the jungle gym.

3. If scientists found a way to allow dogs to talk, do you think we should implement it? Or should we just keep them quiet?

That’s something to really ponder about,. I would say yes to letting them talk, I think  we’d be shocked at first to discover that our pets are thinking differently from what we thought. That they’re only really cuddling us because they’re bored. But on the other hand I’d love to currently hear my dogs thoughts – she has cancer – just so I can figure out what she wants or see if she’s in any pain. I think it would be weird, but we’d adjust to it.

4. How do you order your Starbucks?

I don’t. Gabby is not a coffee fan, granted I have a gift card for Starbucks that I will most likely use while down in Chicago next month, but even then I will probably only get good food items or a Jones soda if they happen to be carrying it.

5. What’s worse? People who don’t know the difference between your and you’re OR people who smack their food?

Both are awful. But I think I’m going to have to go with smacking your food. It’s called close your mouth, it’s really not that hard of a concept. I mean children are mostly able to grasp it – Why can’t you? The grammar thing is bad and can be annoying, but hey you know what they were trying to say, and I can’t even pretend that I don’t do it at least a few times a week. We’re humans and we make errors – especially when we’re writing at three in the morning per say.

6. What CD can you listen to over and over?

Anything by Lenka, Regina Spektor, Madi Diaz , Daphne Willis and Co and the likes. Or usually all of them on a CD, just because I really like their calming music – it’s great for playing tetris or listening to while sleeping.

7. What was the most surprising thing about college?

Wellllllll, seeing as I have not yet attended college, and in the long run might not end up going, I can’t say. Although if I were to imagine I would go with how much you miss your family if you live in dorms or share an apartment. At first it’s cool and your happy to be independent but then you’re work starts to pile up and you haven’t eaten anything but Mr Noodle for at least a month solid and you just really want to go home and have your mom feed you and do your laundry.

8. What’s the best deal you ever got? (Biggest sale item.)

I’ve probably gotten a few good deals in my time. I like deals, I’m somewhat of  a bargain shopper. I think the best deal I ever got though was on a pair of shoes – well actually a bunch of pairs of shoes. The shoes were on sale for two dollars a pair, I’m pretty sure I got 6 pairs of shoes. I also bought tank tops that day that were a decent price. A memorable purchase has to be my heat changing shirt though – 5 bucks, and countless hours of entertainment … and people blowing on my chest.

9. Who is your role model? Why?

I have many for different reasons and this is not an exhaustive list. My mom because she’s a fantastic mother and did an amazing job running our household while keeping us close and making us all feel loved. My dad because he is SO smart. So so smart.  There’s a woman at my school. I’ve always loved her and respected her. But as I’ve grown, I realize how truly rare it is to meet someone so loving and I’m sure that everyone that’s had the pleasure of meeting her feels the same way. I cherish my relationship with her even though I don’t hang out with her too much, I just like the fact that she radiates amazigness.

10. What movie would you like to see that is in theaters right now?

I don’t go to the movies that much although I do love when I go because it’s usually with friends and is super duperdy fun buckets. But I would really like to see Beastly as well as Little Red Riding hood. Both of them just look amazing, and have a quite a few hot men.

What in the name of Zeus does the PrtScnSysRq Button do? March 25, 2011

Well as I sit here with Elena and Adriana analyzing art, I’m not really compelled to write anything. There is the small fact that Elena and Chloe just taught me how to use a “Print Screen” button, something that is apparently general knowledge but has always escaped me. Now I consider myself a pretty “hip” kid but my keyboard at home is curved and the Print Screen button has always just left me wondering what the hell, “PrtScrnSysRq” were!

On a different note, I think I might give fifteen people the chance to ask me anything, then I will post the questions and the answers on here. It’s just mainly for the fact that I’m a little bit bored because… “It’s Fryday, fryday..”Hell to the NO! Stop singing this song, and any other parody of this song, because just, UGHH, can’t you tell it’s killing your insides. The minute I even heard of this song my only thought was Like baby, baby, baby… NO! It’s all the same, take a listen, all the pop stars now- a- days are just repeating a word over and over again to the same beat.

Why does the younger generation not notice this?

Tuesday Ten – March 22nd March 23, 2011

Alright the truth is that sometimes I just don’t have anything to write about – because I’m to busy reading the blogs of people I find interesting. One popular thing around right now is a list called Ten on Tuesday. I’ve renamed it and I’m giving it a go, so let’s get this thing started off right!

1. If you won the lottery, what would be your one random, off-the-wall purchase?
A fully furnished apartment with rent paid off for 5 years.

2. What is popular now that you just don’t get?
Twitter and Facebook games like Farmville and Mafia Wars

3. What would your last meal, you know, if you were ever about to be executed and you got to choose that sort of thing?
Baked seven cheese ravioli from Boston pizza, with a Ceaser salad on the side and then a big hunk of chocolate cherry cheesecake.

4. When is it okay to start listening to Christmas music?
November 12th… no earlier.

5. How do you feel about facial hair on men?
I’m not a fan of beards or mustaches. A little scruff is okay but if I’m giving you a hug and your face is peeling away a layer of my skin, or I’ve discovered a small family of woodland sprite it’s time to shave.

6. McDonald’s or Burger King? Those are the only two options.
McDonald’s fries and Flurries.

7. What kind of soap do you use?
The Dark Kiss body wash I got for christmas, I don’t use it to much but I’m most defianetly hooked on the hand lotion.

8. What movie can you watch over and over and never get tired of?
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Wild Child, St. Trinians, The Breakfast Club, and Sydney White.

9. Favorite beverage?
Non-alcoholic: Any clear soda – Ginger Ale, Sprite, Spritz up, Seven up, Lemon Lime

Alcoholic: Give me a year?

10. What do you want for Christmas?
Realistically: Books. In my dreams: An apartment, a laptop, heels that don’t make my feet hurt, a really big bed, some nice bed sheets, and a big rainforest shower.

Your turn.

The not so secret life of teenagers having sex. March 17, 2011

Filed under: So you could say... — GabrialGrewOnUp @ 12:34 am

I used to really like the tv show “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” but I hadn’t watched it in a long time because it had been on hiatus so I watched an episode tonight…. I have no idea what I was thinking. Just sitting there tonight and watching this episode was almost painful. The somewhat awkward actors – which used to a be a charming quality – are just plan awkward to the point were every scene, even the normal ones between friends I was cringing. But that’s not really what I wanted to write this post about. No the real reason I’m writing about a television show is because although it’s called “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” the only thing the show ever seems to cover is sex, teen pregnancy and relationships.

Now as angst filled every teenagers life happens to be we do have other problems. I find that’s one of the newer things that bothers me about the show. Everyone lives in these perfect little worlds were there only problem is teen pregnancy. Sure they’ve had the gay kids on the show and the struggles that we know they go through, the good and the bad things that happen. But where’s more of the realistic stuff, where’s the alcohol and prescription drug abuse. Where’s the depressed kid, or the self mutilater. I know it’s an uncheery thing to be bringing up especially for a tv show but I mean as teenagers we do more than just have sex and talk about our current boyfriend and girlfriend. I mean, we’re real people. There’s more going on in the world.

Down at the bottom, all the things I’ve forgot. March 15, 2011

Filed under: So you could say... — GabrialGrewOnUp @ 3:50 am

Herm, well let’s just say that it is never a good thing for me to remember today is March 14th – or 3/14 or better yet 3.14 – which you know is pi day – at around 1134, I just pulled a pie out of my freezer and am currently munching on a piece of it, cause I couldn’t miss a day like this.  What else am I doing? Drinking no name cola out of a giant-sized coffee mug, because although I don’t drink coffee I still own a ridiculous amount of mugs. I think around 37 if I were to estimate.

The musical is over and like the rest of my crazy castmates I miss staying at the school until well into the night, but hey its march break and I’m not even currently at school.

So what does a crazy – and very bored – person like myself do on march break, you ask? Well I catch up on all the shows that I watch but haven’t been able to in a while because I got this thing called a life – it turned out to be very inconvenient to me. (To all those who can’t tell it’s late and my sarcasm and witty remarks aren’t flowing very efficiently.)

Well, this post turned into something that’s actually boring me. If I go to sleep and suddenly become clever I might come back on here, other than that I’m having a hard time being creative recently so if all else fails I might start telling you guys my dreams, cause sometimes they’re weird. And you guys star in them ;)

… in the non-creepy you-just-happen-to-be-there-to-talk-to-me; kind of way.
